Ingredients of Pabda Macher Shorshe Jhal
- Pabda Fish or Pabda Mach
- Mustard oil
- Salt (as per taste)
- Turmeric powder
- Sugar (as per taste)
- Red chilly powder
- Slitted green chilli
- Chopped coriander leaves
- Mustard pest
- Kalo Jeera or Nigella seed or black cumin seeds
- Green chilli pest
- Cumin powder
- Dry Red Chilli
Making of Pabda Macher Shorshe Jhal
1Marinate the Pabda fish with 1tsp turmeric powder and 1 tsp salt. Keep it for 5 to 10 minutes. Take a pan. Heat the pan too much and then pour the mustard oil. Fry the Pabda mach both side gently.
Now take 2 tbsp extra mustard oil in pan. Heat the oil properly. Add ½ tsp kalojeera or black cumin seeds (Nigella Seeds) and 1 piece dry red chilli in hot oil. Also add 5 tbsp mustard seeds paste. Cook it properly.
3Add ½ tsp turmeric powder and ½ tsp cumin powder powder. Fry the masala for 1 minute. Add ½ tsp salt and ½ tsp sugar. Fry again for 2 minutes. Add some water and mix the masala.
4Add 4 to 5 pieces slitted green chilli in mustard gravy. Add fried Pabda macher pieces in the white mustard gravy. Close the lid. Cook for 5 to 10 minutes in low flame.
Taste the salt and sugar. Add salt and sugar as per your taste if needed. Spread chopped coriander leaves all over the pabda macher jhol. Put off the gas oven and close the lid for 5 minutes.
